well, that really worked out. blogging, that is…
guess what? I’m a statistic. A person who:
1) has lost weight and gained it all back
2) has tried half-assedly to lose weight all whilst eating a pizza
3) has come one year further and had no change pretty much in body mass
So, maybe, just maybe, since there are still a few people coming around here, I will dust this thing off and hit the weight-loss trail again. Seeing how I still have the same amount of self-loathing as last year and the year before, maybe 3rd times a charm?

stoeipoes- it’s got to be a changing of attitudes and living. you have to make changes that you can live with for LIFE or you will gain it back. You can lose weight and still eat pizza. You just can’t eat half the pizza.
Make small changes you can live with. Eat smaller portions. Fill half your plate at every meal with fruit and vegetables, 1/4 carbs and 1/4 protein. Eat the fruit and veggies first so you feel fuller when you start eating the higher calorie stuff. Try salads with no dressing before meals (get it on the side and just dip your fork in it before each bite) Check to make sure you’re not drinking a whole bunch of calories. It’s simple math. THere is no magic to weight loss, if you eat 3,500 more calories than your body burns, you gain a pound of fat. If you eat 3,500 calories less than your body needs, you lose a pound of fat. There are no special tricks or any other way around it. It’s straight math. If you want to know exactly how much your body burns every day, get metabolic testing done. My gym does it. You can burn more by exercising or you can lose slower by not exercising. You can do this! you need to not be so hard on yourself.
Good Luck!
Helen, I know all these things… but I really appreciate you reminding me! I know all the things I have to DO to get the weight off, it’s a question of doing! And while my life has defintely been on the up for a good almost-year, I’ve still not had/made the time to do what I need to do for my body. So I haven’t lost weight and I’ve only gained a minimal amount of weight too, so it could be worse.
I do know one thing, I WILL have more time for me now and I WILL put it to good use. I just have to stop with the excuses, no matter how valid and do it!
thank you so much and it’s really lovely to see you again
